Ohio State’s cornerback class is now down to two as four-star Baltimore prospect Blake Woodby has reportedly decommitted from the Buckeyes’ 2025 recruiting class.
Woodby (5-11 175) is the No. 7 cornerback in the 247Sports Composite and the No. 66 player in the nation overall. He committed to Ohio State last October, but since then the Buckeyes have added five-star cornerbacks Devin Sanchez and Na’eem Offord.
Per the Composite, Sanchez and Offord are the Nos. 1 and 2 cornerbacks in the 2025 class, respectively.
Ohio State now has four defensive backs committed in the 2025 class, which includes safeties DeShawn Stewart and Cody Haddad. The Buckeyes will want to add at least one more cornerback in the class.
Conroe, Texas prospect Dorian Brew is the No. 4 cornerback in the class. He is originally from Ohio, however, and only moved to Texas in the past year. He previously attended Clayton Northmont High School in Dayton.
This is expected to be a large class of defensive backs for the Buckeyes and Woodby’s decommitment sets them back by one.
Ohio State signed three cornerbacks last year in Aaron Scott, Bryce West, and Miles Lockhart. All three took part in spring practice this year for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State will likely lose three cornerbacks to the NFL after this season, as Denzel Burke and Jordan Hancock are both seniors, and junior Davison Igbinosun could choose to leave early. It is also probably naive to expect no other departures via the transfer portal after the season. As such, OSU cornerbacks coach Tim Walton will keep working on landing top prospects. He’s done a fair job of it to this point.
