Jake Diebler Adds Talor Battle To Coaching Staff

Ohio State men’s basketball coach Jake Diebler announced the hiring of Talor Battle as an assistant coach.

“Talor has great experience in the Big Ten both as a player and as a coach and I’m excited to welcome him to the Buckeye family,” said Diebler in a university release. “He is elite at player development which is evident by the success Northwestern has had the past couple of seasons. He has the ability to recruit at a high level and knows what it takes to be successful in this conference. I’ve known Talor for quite a while and I’m looking forward to working alongside him as we take the next step as a program.”

Battle spent the previous three seasons at Northwestern. He began his coaching career at his alma mater Penn State in 2020-2021.

Battle was instrumental in the development of Northwestern guards such as Chase Audige and Boo Buie. He has also helped the Wildcats to the NCAA Tournament each of the past two seasons.

A very talented guard in his own right, Battle was the first player in Big Ten history with 2,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 500 assists in a career. He was a two-time All-Big Ten selection who scored 20.2 points per game as a senior.
