The Big Ten has announced the kickoff time for the Buckeyes and Badgers and it will be better under the lights.
Why is that? Because this game is set for a 7:30pm kickoff and will be broadcast by ABC. This will mark Ohio State’s third night game of the season through four games. Only the Arkansas State game kicked off in a non-night window.
Ohio State has designated this game as a “black out” and is urging fans to wear black to Ohio Stadium.
This game will mark the first time that Ohio State and Wisconsin have played since the 2019 season when the two teams met in the Big Ten Championship. Ohio State and Wisconsin played one another earlier that year, also in Columbus. The Buckeyes won both of those games, 38-7 at Ohio Stadium and 34-21 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Ohio State has held an overwhelming edge in this series, winners of the last eight games and an all-time record of 61-18-5. The last time that Ohio State fell to Wisconsin was back in 2010 when the No. 1 Buckeyes saw the opening kickoff returned for a touchdown and the Badgers jumped the Buckeyes 31-18 at Camp Randall Stadium.
The Badgers recently lost at home to Washington State in a stunning upset. The Badgers were ranked in the top-20 prior to that game and currently find themselves at the top-25 after that loss.
This game will serve as the opening game of Big Ten competition for both Ohio State and Wisconsin as each team will play three out-of-conference teams to start things off.
