What I Know, What I Think, What I Wonder — First Week Of Fall Camp Edition

I know from what I’ve seen and been told, Will Howard is focused on moving the chains. He will take shots but not carelessly. I don’t think I’ve seen him throw an interception, which would make him the only QB to not give the ball away. (If I’ve reported that he threw an INT in a previous report, then go with that one because the days have been running together.)

I think Will Howard is going to get more aggressive against the opposition. I haven’t seen arm strength be an issue. It’s just not necessarily wise to throw deep when Caleb Downs is playing centerfield or Denzel Burke is defending a walk-on receiver running a nine route.

I wonder if Desmond Howard will get written up by HR this year for saying something to or about Pete Thamel that he shouldn’t.

I know that James Peoples would be a candidate to start at a lot of schools. He and Sam Williams-Dixon will be fun to watch close out some fourth quarters this season. Peoples’ balance is impressive, and he runs lower to the ground than a Roomba.

I think the best way to discuss this cheating scandal with Michigan fans is by first administering a kind of Turing test to see if they’re actually human. Simply ask “Was there cheating in the Michigan program?” If they answer no, then those people don’t have the ability to have a conversation about the topic. If they answer yes, then you can proceed. It may not actually go anywhere but there’s at least a possibility of having a productive back and forth. As it concerns the segment of Michigan fans and reporters who don’t think there was any wrongdoing — or worse, the wrongdoing didn’t have any impact, they can’t see the forest for the khakis.

I wonder how many rogue staffers it takes to screw in a lack of institutional control.
