Ohio State Defensive Tackle Tyleik Williams Will Miss Marshall Game

Ohio State senior starting defensive tackle Tyleik Williams will miss today’s game against Marshall. The team released its availability report and Williams is listed as OUT. No further details were released on any particular injury but it is not uncommon for players to be held out with minor injuries in games the Buckeyes should win comfortably.

Williams is currently third on the team in tackles (9), and tied for first in tackles for loss (2) and sacks (1.5).

Ohio State is just one of three teams that has yet to allow a touchdown this season (Tennessee, Georgia), and they are the only defense in the nation that has yet to allow an opposing offense into the red zone.

In fact, opposing offenses have only made it into Ohio State territory on five of 26 possessions this season.

In place of Tyleik Williams on the Buckeye defense, defensive line coach Larry Johnson will likely go with either true sophomore Kayden McDonald or redshirt sophomore Hero Kanu. McDonald has played twice as many snaps as Kanu through two games this season.

There are no players listed as game-time decisions. The only other players that are listed as out are walk-on running backs Rashid Sesay and TC Caffey.

Marshall (1-1) and No. 3 Ohio State (2-0) will kick off at 12:10 pm Saturday and the game will air on FOX.
