UNIVERSITY PARK, PA — After missing last week’s game against Nebraska, Ohio State graduate senior safety Lathan Ransom will be back in the lineup today as the No. 4 Buckeyes take on the No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions on the road in Beaver Stadium.
Without Ransom last week, senior nickel back Jordan Hancock and freshman safety Jaylen McClain took turns pairing deep with sophomore starter Caleb Downs. Hancock will now be able to move back to his customary nickel back position.
Fourth-year junior offensive tackle Zen Michalski is listed as OUT this week. He started at left tackle last week in place of the injured Josh Simmons. Simmons is out for the season. Michalski left last week’s game with a leg injury and did not return.
The Buckeyes have a number of options they can turn to at left tackle, though none of them are ideal. Ohio State head coach Ryan Day has not offered up any hints this week.
Fourth-year junior tight end Will Kacmarek is also still out following an arm injury in the game at Oregon. He is expected to return at some point this season.
No players are listed as game-time decisions.
