Ohio State Center Seth McLaughlin Out For Season Following Injury

COLUMBUS — Ohio State starting center Seth McLaughlin is expected to miss the season following an Achilles injury in practice on Tuesday, a source has confirmed to Buckeye Huddle.

Ohio State has not confirmed the injury. Head coach Ryan Day is scheduled to meet with the media following practice early Wednesday night.

McLaughlin has been outstanding for the Buckeyes this year and was garnering attention for postseason accolades prior to suffering an Achilles injury.

McLaughlin transferred to Ohio State after spending four years at Alabama, starting the past two seasons for the Crimson Tide.

This is the second crucial injury suffered on the Ohio State offensive line, as starting left tackle Josh Simmons was lost for the season following a knee injury in the Oregon game last month.

The Buckeyes will now need to replace their most-experienced interior offensive lineman, and do it with just two days of practice to prepare for No. 5 Indiana and their aggressive defensive scheme.
