Ohio State Receiver Jayden Ballard Adding Name To Transfer Portal

COLUMBUS — Ohio State fourth-year junior wide receiver Jayden Ballard is entering the transfer portal.

He announced his plans via social media.

Ballard has caught two passes for 18 yards this season. For his career, he has 11 catches for 177 yards and one touchdown.

Ballard has spent most of his time as a Buckeye on special teams. In Saturday’s 13-10 loss to Michigan, he downed an OSU punt at Michigan’s 2-yard line.

Playing time on offense has been hard to find for Ballard. He saw snaps on offense in just six games this season and seven games in 2023. He did not catch a pass last season.

Ballard is now the second Buckeye to enter the portal, joining third-year sophomore linebacker Gabe Powers, who announced his intentions on Monday.

Ballard came to Ohio State as a Top 100 recruit in the class of 2021. He was ranked the No. 50 player in the class by ESPN, and the No. 4 receiver in the nation per 247Sports.
