Ohio State’s Seth McLaughlin Wins 2024 Rimington Trophy

Ohio State center Seth McLaughlin has won the 2024 Dave Rimington Trophy, which goes annually to the nation’s best center.

McLaughlin is a graduate senior who transferred to Ohio State in January after earning a degree in Finance from Alabama. He also has a Masters in sports hospitality management. A finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy — aka ‘the Academic Heisman’ — McClaughlin boasts a 4.0 GPA.

A Walter Camp First-Team All-American selection this season, McLaughlin was lost for the year when he tore his Achilles tendon in the week leading up to the Buckeyes’ 11th game of the season.

Before the injury, McLaughlin graded out a champion (80%+ in executing assignments) in all 10 starts for the Buckeyes. According to Pro Football Focus, he did not allow a sack across 207 pass blocking snaps and allowed only four pressures all season.

Seth McLaughlin is now the fourth Ohio State Buckeye to win the Rimington Trophy. He joins LeCharles Bentley (2001), Pat Elflein (2016), and Billy Price (2017).

No school has won more Rimington Trophies than Ohio State. Michigan and Alabama have both won the award three times. No other school has won it twice.
