The Ohio State Buckeyes won their first national championship in a decade on Monday night in Atlanta, running off 31 consecutive points to overcome an early 7-0 deficit to roll to a 34-23 win.
RB Quinshon Judkins scored three touchdowns, two on the ground, and one through the air, and WR Jeremiah Smith scored the first touchdown of the game, and also added a late 56-yard reception on a 3rd-and-11 play to help seal the victory.
The win capped a remarkable run for the Buckeyes, who entered the College Football Playoff as the No. 8 seed, and who had to run a four-game gauntlet through Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, and Notre Dame to win their first national title since 2014.
