Availability Report: Running Back TreVeyon Henderson Out For Buckeyes

EVANSTON, Ill. — Ohio State starting running back TreVeyon Henderson will miss today’s game at Northwestern with an undisclosed injury. Henderson has been battling the effects of a leg injury he suffered at Michigan State and a foot injury that occurred even earlier in the season.

Henderson is leading the Buckeyes with 96 rushing attempts and 552 yards on the ground this year. His absence continues a seeming injury-of-the-week for Ohio State, as they continue to have starters randomly missing games this season.

Redshirt sophomore Miyan Williams — who left last week’s game at Penn State following a hand injury — is not listed on the availability report and has traveled to Evanston for today’s game. Given the wet turf and the injury history over the past month for Williams, it would not be a surprise to see him have a reduced role against Northwestern.

With the running back situation in some flux, expect junior running back-turned linebacker-turned-running back Chip Trayanum to get some carries. He has one carry this year after spending the previous two years as a running back at Arizona State. True freshman Dallan Hayden will also be available to handle however many carries the Buckeyes will need from him.

Also out once again for Ohio State is junior wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Njigba is still expected to return this season according to head coach Ryan Day and receivers coach Brian Hartline.

The Buckeyes will also once again be without fifth-year senior starting cornerback Cameron Brown. Brown also missed last week’s game. He is expected to return at some point this season.

There are no game-time decisions for the Buckeyes.
