Ohio State second-year safety Jaylen Johnson is transferring per a report from Chris Hummer of 247Sports.
Ohio State has since confirmed the report.
Johnson had yet to see a snap for the Buckeyes in his two years. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
Ohio State landed Johnson out of Cincinnati La Salle High School as part of the 2021 recruiting class. He was signed to eventually grow into OSU’s “Bullet” position as a hybrid safety/linebacker. That position got scrapped midway through the 2021 season, leaving Johnson in a bit of a limbo.
Johnson was a 3-star prospect and the No. 30 safety in the 2021 class. He was ranked the No. 406 player overall.
