Keenan Bailey is expected to replace Kevin Wilson as Ohio State’s tight ends coach following the season. Wilson is leaving to take the head coaching position at Tulsa.
On Tuesday, Buckeye Huddle’s Alex Gleitman detailed OSU’s intentions on our Huddle message board. On Saturday, ESPN’s Pete Thamel also reported the move. Ohio State has confirmed that the plan is for Bailey to replace Wilson after the season.
Bailey has been with Ohio State since 2016, beginning his OSU career as an intern helping with the Buckeye running backs. In 2017, he moved to receivers, and in 2019 he worked with the OSU quarterbacks. He had been a quality control coach for the past three seasons until being promoted to Senior Advisor to the Head Coach this past February.
In 2020, Bailey was named to 247Sports’ “30 Under 30” list of college football’s rising young coaches nationally.
Bailey has already established himself as a popular coach among recruits over the years. As a full-time assistant, his status in that regard should only grow moving forward.
