It’s another monster receiver class for Ohio State as wide receivers coach Brian Hartline continues to build a reputation as one of the nation’s top recruiters. Perhaps his best work in the 2023 class was landing Rolesville (NC) star Noah Rogers.
The four-star prospect signed his letter of intent with Ohio State on Wednesday after initially committing to the Buckeyes back in June. Early on, it looked like Rogers might be tough to pull away from home with North Carolina State emerging as an early favorite. But Hartline never backs down from a challenge on the recruiting trail and a big push back in the spring led to a June commitment from Rogers to the Buckeyes.
Outlook:
It would not take long to find well connected people around the Ohio State program to gush about Rogers and even hint that he could be the best prospect of this tremendous crop of receivers the Buckeyes are bringing into the fold.
Rogers is a pure outside receiver, a bouncy athlete who can take the top off defenses and also make circus catches over top of defenders. There are elements of Marvin Harrison Jr. in Rogers’ game as well as in his more quiet demeanor.
Rogers’ high level athleticism, work ethic, and attitude will give him a chance to make an impact in Columbus sooner rather than later.
