CINCINNATI – Ohio State football fans who love to see the Buckeyes recruit the state of Ohio are going to love what is going on in Cincinnati right now as Withrow high school is loading up with homegrown talent and set to have a big year both on the field and in the world of college recruiting.
Class of 2024 cornerback Terhyon Nichols is a name that everyone better familiarize themselves with quickly as a fast-rising player in the state of Ohio who already holds more than two-dozen offers and more big ones are coming. Throw into the mix that Nichols holds a 4.55 GPA, and you will see why the interest in this player far outweigh the three-star ranking that he may hold today.
The home state Buckeyes are very familiar with Nichols as cornerback remains a premium position and it sure does not hurt to have a great one at a school in the backyard.
Nichols will be busy this spring with several major visits planned including one to the Buckeyes.
“Ohio State, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Georgia,” were just a few of the schools that Nichols mentioned. “Just see what I can get to.”
Ohio State had Nichols on campus to start off the 2022 season when the Buckeyes hosted Notre Dame at Ohio Stadium. Two schools that are heavily recruiting Nichols were on display there and it was a near perfect setting for the rising senior corner.
“It was cool, it was a great atmosphere,” Nichols said. “Both teams competed. I just loved the atmosphere, it was beautiful from pregame to the beginning of the game, it was just kind of surreal because it was my first college football game going to and watching.”
Nichols also has had the chance to camp with the Buckeyes and he came away impressed with everything that he saw during that visit as well including head coach Ryan Day.
“I just really like the energy because I can really feed off of that energy and it definitely helps me as a player when I have got people around me that are fired up as well as the head coach being fired up,” Nichols said.
Check out the remainder of this exclusive video interview with so much more from Nichols and what some of his goals are both on the field and on the track as well any ideas of a recruiting timeline and what it is like to go against a talented receiver room in high school that includes super 2026 prospect Chris Henry Jr.
