Ohio State hosted one of its most talented visitor weekends in recent memory this week and one of the headliners was Buford (GA) safety KJ Bolden. The five-star prospect has had Ohio State as one of his top schools throughout his recruiting process, but the Buckeyes are still trying to pry him away from the likes of Georgia, Alabama, and Clemson in what has turned into one of the nation’s most competitive recruiting battles.
Bolden took to Twitter on Sunday to call the Ohio State visit a “10 out of 10”, before speaking with BuckeyeHuddle.com about the trip.
“Overall great visit,” Bolden said. “I love everything about Ohio State.”
Bolden has been recruited hard by secondary coach Tim Walton and safeties coach Perry Eliano who is also a cousin of Bolden’s. Those relationships continued to be forged over the weekend as Bolden says he enjoyed the family atmosphere once again in Columbus.
“The love is always genuine when I’m there,” he said. “It was definitely a great visit.”
The Buckeyes are hoping that environment and the key relationships will help in this fierce battle with the southern powers.
“Enjoying the moment with the coaches and their families was the best part of the visit,” Bolden added.
Bolden made the trip with his fellow five-star teammate, defensive end prospect Eddrick Houston. Houston has set a decision date for August 22nd and the world should know soon when Bolden will make his choice.
“I’m putting together a date now,” Bolden said. “(The decision date) will be announced soon.”
