BRADENTON, Fla. — Ohio State continues to find itself in the mix for the nation’s elite talent at the wide receiver position. In the 2025 class, Jacksonville (FL) Mandarin star Jaime Ffrench is one of a few big-time rising juniors that have the Buckeyes on their short list.
Ffrench took home camp MVP honors over the weekend at the Under Armour Future 50, continuing to prove that he’s on the nation’s premier talents. Ffrench recently released an early top five that included the Buckeyes.
“Notre Dame, Florida State, Penn State, Alabama, and Ohio State,” Ffrench reiterated.
Ohio State’s history at the wide receiver position has been a driving factor in Ffrench’s interest in the Buckeyes.
“The numbers speak for themselves,” Ffrench started. “The draft classes the last two or three years, they’ve been producing players at my position, so why not put them in my five. It’s somewhere that I could see myself playing and (Brian Hartline) is recruiting me hard.”
Hartline has generally been methodical about who he targets in a given recruiting class and doesn’t jump in too early on too many players. Ffrench is one of those exceptions that is getting the full court press before his junior season even kicks off.
“Coach Hartline is a great coach,” Ffrench explained. “He stays on me hard about recruiting. We stay in touch a lot and that’s someone I could see myself playing for.”
Ffrench was supposed to return to Columbus earlier this month but ran into some flight issues. Will that trip be rescheduled down the road?
“For sure,” he said. “I had some flight problems, but I’ll definitely be back. It’s not set right now but I’ll definitely be back soon.”
