Buckeyes Land Commitment From Top 100 Receiver Jeremiah McClellan

Four-star wide receiver Jermiah McClellan has committed to Ohio State.

McClellan is a four-star receiver out of Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Past Buckeyes from CBC include receiver Kamryn Babb and cornerback Cameron Brown.

McClellan (6-0 190) is ranked the No. 18 receiver in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 108 player overall. Per 247Sports’ own rankings, he is the No. 17 receiver and the No. 91 player in the 2024 recruiting class.

As a junior last season, McClellan caught 61 passes for 1,103 yards and 13 touchdowns. He posted 1,640 total yards and 18 total touchdowns. He also notched four sacks and 14 tackles in six games on defense.

McClellan took his official visit to Ohio State the weekend of June 9, which came one week after an official visit to LSU. He took an official visit to Oregon the weekend of June 23. He also holds offers from Georgia, Florida, Michigan, Miami, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, and others.

The Buckeyes now have three receivers committed in the 2024 class, as McClellan joins five-star receivers Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham. McClellan could end up outside or in the slot. He has the speed to get deep, but also the short-area quickness and burst to create yards after the catch.

Based on the makeup of OSU’s current receiver class, however, McClellan projects to the slot. Ohio State wants to sign four receivers in the class overall. Two weeks ago they offered four-star Miami commit Chance Robinson.

The Buckeyes now have 20 commits in what is ranked as the No. 2 class in the nation, behind only Georgia. Ohio State’s skill commitments will once again challenge anybody else’s in the nation, led by Jeremiah Smith, who is ranked the No. 2 player in the nation.

Quarterback Air Noland is ranked the No. 5 passer in the nation. He is joined in the backfield by tailbacks James Peoples (No. 3 RB), Jordan Lyle (No. 35 RB), and Sam Williams-Dixon (No. 114 RB).

The Buckeyes also have commitments from four-star tight ends Damarion Witten and Max LeBlanc.

Buckeye Huddle will have more on the Jeremiah McClellan commitment in the coming days.
