Ohio State’s big recruiting weekend for the Michigan State is already paying dividends. The Buckeyes have flipped three-star offensive lineman Gabe VanSickle from Northwestern.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound lineman out of Coopersville (MI) committed to Northwestern in the middle of May, before Pat Fitzgerald was fired as the Wildcats’ head coach. Ohio State evaluated VanSickle throughout his senior season and offered him last week in advance of his official visit to Columbus.
That visit was a homerun and VanSickle is now the fourth offensive lineman in Ohio State’s 2024 recruiting class. VanSickle is considered a “swing” lineman, meaning he could play either guard or tackle at the next level.
