Michigan Offensive Lineman Gabe VanSickle Signs With Buckeyes

Ohio State has turned to the state up north to shore up their offensive line with the signing of Coopersville, Michigan lineman Gabe VanSickle.

VanSickle (6-5 283) was previously committed to Northwestern, but flipped to the Buckeyes in late November, which came a little over two weeks after OSU offered.

VanSickle played left tackle for his Coopersville High School team, and did so with a physical bent. He was a First-Team Division III All-State selection as a senior.

A three-star prospect, VanSickle is rated the No. 42 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 recruiting class per the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 605 player in the nation overall. He is ranked the No. 13 player in the state of Michigan.

VanSickle is ranked the No. 14 interior lineman in the nation per On3 and the No. 255 player overall.

Northwestern landed a commitment from VanSickle back in May. Ohio State offered on November 7. He took an official visit to OSU on November 10, then decommitted from Northwestern on November 21 before committing to the Buckeyes two days later. He also held offers from Michigan State and Stanford.

VanSickle is expected to enroll at Ohio State over the summer.
