Postseason Set For Buckeye Women’s, Men’s Basketball

The Buckeye basketball teams are both 2-seeds and both will be hosting at least one game in the postseason.

The Ohio State women’s basketball team (25-5) is a 2-seed in the NCAA Tournament and will face 15-seed Maine (24-9) at Value City Arena on Friday March 22 in the Portland 3 Region. That game will be played at 12:00 pm and will air on ESPN.

Should they win that game, they will host the winner of No. 7 Duke (20-11) and No. 10 Richmond (29-5) on Sunday.

All session and single session tickets for the NCAA Women’s Basketball First and Second Rounds will go on sale to the public at 11:00am ET on Monday, March 18, 2024 online HERE.

The Sweet 16 and Elite 8 of the women’s tournament will be held in Albany, New York and Portland, Oregon. The Final Four and National Championship Game will be played in Cleveland, Ohio at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

The top seed in the Buckeyes’ bracket is USC, who finished 26-5 this season.

The men’s team (20-13) is a 2-seed in the National Invitational Tournament and will host Cornell (22-7) at Value City Arena. If the Buckeyes win that game, they will host the winner of 3-seed Virginia Tech (18-14) and Richmond (23-9).

The men will play their first-round game Tuesday March 19 at 7:00 pm on ESPN, so new head coach Jake Diebler won’t have a ton of time to prepare his team. He will, however, have the same amount of time as his opponent.

Tickets will go on sale for the men’s game Monday at 12:00 pm and can be purchased online at ohiostatebuckeyes.com.

The second round takes place March 23 and 24.

Should the men win their two games in Value City Arena, they would then either travel to 1-seed Wake Forest, or host whichever team has made it through that portion of the bracket.

The semifinals and finals of the NIT are being held at the Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Also, the No. 1 Ohio State women’s hockey team takes part in the Frozen Four with a 4:00 pm start on Friday March 22 against No. 4 Clarkson. The Frozen Four is being played at the Whittemore Center in Durham, N.H. on the campus of the University of New Hampshire. The championship game will be played on Sunday March 24.
