The Buckeyes have picked up their second commitment on the day of the annual spring game with the addition of safety Cody Haddad out of Cleveland St. Ignatius.
Haddad was a one-time member of the Wisconsin class before backing off of his pledge and leading to great speculation that the Buckeyes would not let the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder get away from them a second time.
The Buckeyes could see a great deal of versatility out of Haddad, not only at safety but potentially as a returner, the new Ohio State commit is a member of his high school track team and a member of the 4x100m and 4x200m teams.
Haddad held close to two dozen offers as a three-star recruit according to the 247 Composite Rankings.
This adds to an already deep recruiting class in the secondary as Ohio State already holds commits from Devin Sanchez, Na’eem Offord, Blake Woodby, and Deshawn Stewart. There is a belief that Ohio State could pursue close to eight defensive backs in the class with a secondary that is aging out and could look very different in 2025.
Keep it locked in here and we will have more on this pick-up, as well as the addition of Nate Roberts on the offensive side of the ball at tight end.
