Long time Ohio State pledge London Merritt decommitted from Ohio State late on Tuesday morning. The four-star defensive end prospect out of Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy, via Atlanta, had been committed to Ohio State since late March.
Merritt made a surprise October official visit to Colorado and then followed that up with a return trip to Boulder, which started leading to speculation that Merritt might be on his way out of the class.
With Merritt now officially opening things up, Colorado is the clear favorite to land the talented pass-rusher.
Merritt is the second defensive end prospect to decommit from Ohio State this month joining Zahir Mathis. Colorado is a factor for both of those prospects.
The two decommitments leave Ohio State with just one defensive end commitment in the 2025 class, Zion Grady out of Enterprise (Ala.).
