TAMPA, Fla. — Ohio State has had a chance to host Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit star linebacker Kaden Henderson on two unofficial visits since the fall and the Buckeyes are looking to get the nation’s top junior linebacker prospect back on campus this summer.
“Definitely this summer,” Henderson told BuckeyeHuddle.com on when he would like to return to Columbus. “On May 31st I’m going on a little Texas tour and then I’m going to Tennessee but after that I definitely want to (get back to Ohio State). The past two visits were great so I just want to get back and see what coach Laurinaitis is talking about, that’s my guy.”
Henderson’s last visit to Ohio State took place during the spring where he was able to talk to several people around the program and watch practice.
“Just the brotherhood there is incredible,” Henderson said. “When I was there, everyone was just hanging out together. At practice, you’d never see guys standing alone. So they have a great brotherhood there. Talking to coach Patricia, too, that was great. Just the things he’s done, coaching in New England for a crazy amount of Super Bowls. It was just a great day, for sure.”
Ohio State’s success over the years was an initial draw for Henderson to see what things are like in Columbus and he hasn’t been disappointed so far.
“I feel like they always have a top recruiting class,” he said. “So they’re definitely doing something right, and that just gave me the initiative to get up there and see if I could see myself going there, and I definitely can.”
Henderson was also impressed with the championship run that Ohio State went on this winter.
“I think my favorite player on Ohio State is Sonny Styles,” Henderson said. “Just his size, the way he’s able to do anything on the field, that’s great. But they had a great roster. I feel like they can duplicate that again, but they had a great run.”
