Defensive end recruiting has been under the spotlight at Ohio State lately and the Buckeyes will be receiving some news on a top class of 2025 target this week as Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep Charter star Zahir Mathis will announce his college commitment on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-6, 230-pound prospect has been an Ohio State recruiting target since his freshman season at Imhotep when the Buckeyes were recruiting his teammate, former five-star defensive end Enai White, who ultimately signed with Texas A&M.
Mathis made multiple trips to Ohio State this past year, camping with the Buckeyes in June and returning for a game visit during the fall, and he has established himself as one of the high priority targets for Larry Johnson in a very important class of 2025.
BuckeyeHuddle.com will have coverage of Mathis’ decision on Wednesday as Ohio State is hoping to add another huge piece to its 2025 recruiting puzzle.
