Atlanta (GA) Woodward Academy EDGE London Merritt has been a priority target for Ohio State for more than a year now. The Top 100 class of 2025 prospect has made numerous visits to Ohio State and was recently on campus again for the win over Michigan State.
“It was an awesome weekend,” Merritt told BuckeyeHuddle.com. “I had a great time and great conversations with coach Day and coach Johnson. It felt good.”
Merritt’s relationship continues to grow with Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson. Johnson’s attention to detail has made an impression on Merritt and the two were able to have a good sit down last Sunday with Merritt staying overnight in Columbus.
“Coach Johnson is really breaking down my film with and telling me what I do well, what I need to work on, how I can fit in there and how he can develop me for the next level,” Merritt said. “Coach Johnson is really detailed oriented and I appreciate that a lot.”
Ohio State remains a serious contender for the four-star pass rusher and he’ll be announcing some news in the near future. He also has a general idea of when he will make his college decision.
“I’ve cut my list down to 5,” he explained. “I’ll probably commit sometime next spring.”
