Donovan Jackson Has More To Do As A Buckeye

It has been a busy day for the Buckeyes in terms of comings and goings and one of the best “stayings” is the news that offensive guard Donovan Jackson is coming back for another season with Ohio State.

The former five-star recruit in the class of 2021 has been a fixture for the Buckeyes offensive line, spending two full seasons as a starting guard on the Ohio State offensive line, 26 starts in total over those two seasons.

Nobody will have more experience in an Ohio State uniform than Jackson in 2024 with his announced return as the Buckeyes look to retool the line after a 2023 season that saw some issues with consistency from the group.

The Houston (Texas) product had a big NFL decision in front of him however and while Matt Jones opted to head to the NFL, Jones was part of the class of 2018, three classes earlier than Jackson, who would have been a three-and-done if he opted to leave the program.

Ohio State will return most of its offensive line but change is coming with the addition of Seth McLaughlin from Alabama, who will either play center or the other guard position along with Jackson. The Buckeyes also return Josh Simmons and Josh Fryar at tackles as well as 2023 center Carson Hinzman.

But there is no telling now what the starting five will look like, but it is safe to say that Jackson will hold down his position at guard as the Buckeyes received the welcome news of his return.

Ohio State is still waiting on a few big names to make their decisions known including running back TreVeyon Henderson and defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau. Keep it locked in here for the latest news at BuckeyeHuddle.com.
