Big-time Quarterback Jared Curtis Closing In On a Decision

While much of the talk right now is around what could be a very good few weeks for Ohio State recruiting in the 2025 class, one of the nation’s elite quarterback prospects in 2026 could be closing in on a decision. Nashville (TN) Nashville Christian star Jared Curtis is rated as high as the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2026 class and he’s returning to Ohio State the weekend of January 20th for another look at the Buckeyes.

Before that trip happens, he’ll be returning to another one of his top schools in SEC country as he is expected to be in Athens this weekend checking out the Georgia Bulldogs.

Curtis’ last trip to Ohio State was back in November for a Buckeye win over Michigan State in Ohio Stadium.

“The atmosphere was insane,” Curtis told Buckeye Huddle on Tuesday. “Just the way the team is disciplined and plays together really showed and it was great.”

This trip will have a bit of a different feel to it as Curtis will get a more in-depth look at the program.

“I’m going to look for a family feeling and looking to feel welcomed,” he said. “Relationships with the coaches are always the best. Looking to get to go around and see what campus is like. Looking forward to it.”

Ohio State quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis and head coach Ryan Day have been leading the charge for the Buckeyes in recruiting the 6-foot-3, 220-pound prospect.

“The relationship with coach Dennis is awesome,” Curtis stated. “We stay in contact a ton. I have been on the phone with coach Day and even called him (Monday) to talk about the upcoming visit.”

The recent run of offensive skill players through the program and into the NFL has helped the Buckeyes continue to recruit on a national level and it something that caught Curtis’ eye early in the recruiting process.

“I like how they use their players the way they need to be used,” he said. “And also how the coaching staff stays together as one and really produces players to their best.”

While his sophomore football season just wrapped up, it may not be long before Curtis comes to a decision. This figures to be Ohio State’s last in-person meeting with Curtis before he makes a commitment.

“I think I’m going to make a final decision and find home after two visits this month when I get up to Georgia on the 13th and Ohio State on the 20th,” he added.

Curtis has a top six of Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Ohio State.
